A Week After My Sister Bonny’s Funeral
May 3, 2024
I am lost between worlds.
I clutch the robe at my chest
That feels heavy with the weight of your loss.
The blue sky above,
The green earth below,
Where are you now?
Don’t leave us too soon -
Look down from the hill and reach back your hand
To pull us up
By love that outlasts death.
Come as a butterfly to
Crawl beneath a table of tears
And hover to let us know
That you will linger long enough
To grab needle and thread,
Sew your soul into the hole in our hearts
And remain forever Here.

Heartfelt and beautiful.
