The new book, Bend Into Shape debuted at the IIBA conference in San Diego, October 26-30, 2011.
Bend Into Shape is a 385 page compilation of Bioenergetic techniques. It is a textbook written for Bioenergetic trainees and therapists, that is full of descriptions and illustrations of classic and original somatic interventions. This comprehensive volume is the first of its kind to gather the wealth of information incorporated in somatic interventions, that have evolved since the time of the founder, Alexander Lowen. Techniques include notes, cautions, detailed descriptions, and relational aspects of the interventions. The book contains techniques by: character type including transference and countertransference, body segments, special issues (such as trauma and anxiety), various populations, and emotional issues. It is intended as a reference for certified bioenergetic therapists and a learning tool for students in IIBA approved post graduate training programs.
