“I am fascinated...
by the relationship between emotions and the body and I have pursued my interests in how the body manifests psychological problems. After completing training in Bioenergetic Analysis, I have specialized in this psychoanalytically based form of psychotherapy. The psychoanalytic aspect is that problems originate in developmental failures from childhood, where caretakers do not provide the optimum environment. The exciting contribution of Bioenergetics is that we can also understand how these problems manifest in chronic muscular holdings in the body. We can assess and design treatment techniques based on the body's contracted and expansive postures. The goal is to free psychological as well as physical blocks so the person experiences more flexibility and joy in life.”
